Fun Friday although I thought it was Saturday.........

Today was so great and I totally took advantage of John having the day off, running a few errands, the first of which was a two hour fun fest at Quilter's Corner and one of their fat quarter frenzies!!!! Can we say lovely, simply lovely batiks selection and then I got on a black, cream and red binge to make something for little Sydney girl and then an Esterita Austin inspired palette and then some lovely grey blues just for mo' fun and on and on........... I ended up with 70 and I just finally had to back away from the tables, take a breath and ravage the new Halloween Dance fabric by Marcus Bros. - some of THE best Halloween I have seen in years!!!!!! Toss in a chubby purse pattern and about that time John came in to either faint from the heat or wheel me out, which worked for both of us!!!! Can I tell you something just over the moon, groovy cool????? Dearheart Christine asked Susan if I might have some of the strippy/raggy/cutty off thingies and because of the fat quarter sale - Susan gave me a GIGANDO bag and I simply CANNOT tell you how thrilled, elated and joyful to my very toes I am - - happy dance, happy dance, happy dance - aren't I the silly one????? Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE seemed so very glad to see me, wanted me to stay for the sit and stitch, wanted to help in any way possible, boy, what an elixir for the heart............. Here's something even sillier, the only pics I took today were of clouds - THE MOST gorgeous, fluffy, cotton candy filled clouds I have seen on the longest and I hope you enjoy them as much as have - all taken from a moving truck on 60 Hwy. - not too bad, huh????

Blue Lace lovely..................

The photos don't do the blue lace agates justice - they are the softest periwinkle with crystal/frost lines creating undulating pools of illusion and depth.............. Me likey bunches and more...........

Altered Portfolio Beauties

Finished up the three portfolio covers to my satisfaction that I began on my very first play day with Margaret and Ellen months ago. The interior book will get swapped out with clear covered spiral books as soon as I can find them as the Cambridge books hide the wonderful reverse of the covers but the price was right at Big Lots for these at $4.00 and by using them I was able to approximate finished size and closures.......... I think they turned out simply lovely and expressive and I know they will garner loads o' attention whenever I enlist their services............... And please note - they are sooooooooooooooo much prettier in person!!!!!!!!!!!

Country Piecemaker's catch-up..............

I was determined to get caught up on a bunch of things this week, hoping that getting back on the "horse that threw me" would help aid in my recovery. It's pretty surreal to recall the day of the accident and the joy that morning provided. Having just presented my BOM, SOM, Mystery/Design challenge block to the CP group as well as my "If I Were A FlowHER" challenge quilt, I was feeling fairly darned accomplished. Now fast forward and I am playing catch-up, just completing my June and July BOM samples last night and counting on getting even more done in the next few days. As I never pre-plan anything, I can honestly say I am really delighted with the way this quilt is turning out and as I don't pre-plan, it's been a fun adventure for me as well!!!!!!! I do soooooooooooooo enjoy the designing process whether it be for a quilt, jewelry piece or collage art................ I just love the way my June pinwheels look as if they are twirlin' and dancin' and check out those glandular piano keys for July!!!!! So enjoy, and I'm really hoping to see you all on the 11th!
